Drove a BMW for the first time since 1997 today. It was an 08 M3. It was fun, but I didn't love it.

Try the 1-series man. 120i is a great little hatchback.

Ah. Didn't know whether you were asking why the driving or what.
Honestly, the gearbox. It's ballsy as hell, but the gearbox is a downer. The only other BMW I've driven was a 5er a long time ago, and that felt like liquid metal to someone used to Hondas and Mazdas and old Porsches.
Now it's the Hondas and Mazdas that kill it.
